SCO Family of Services
SCO Family of Services, formerly known as St. Christopher-Ottilie, is one of the largest nonprofit human services organizations in the United States. It provides community-based preventive services, residential programs for children and adults with special needs, and foster care and adoption services. The organization serves more than 5,000 children, families and adults at over 85 locations throughout Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, Bronx, Nassau and Suffolk counties in New York. Its children in foster care are provided with social services and medical care at on-site medical clinics. SCO Family of Services offers out-of-home programs to provide adolescents with temporary respite. It also provides counseling, advocacy, and teen and adult employment services, as well as various after-school and cultural programs. In addition, the organization offers the Nurse Family Partnership program, which includes nurse home visitation services to low-income first-time mothers. The program also includes support, education and counseling on health, behavioral, self-sufficiency and parenting issues. The organization maintains a presence in Brooklyn, N.Y.
