Gran Sasso
Owned and operated by Calabria-born Pietro Sasso, Gran Sasso is Pietro's first Brooklyn venture. With a love of the land that stems from working alongside his grandfather, Pasquale Gallo, Pietro produces and bottles his own olive oil, wine and after-dinner liqueurs. At Gran Sasso, Pietro is joined by three-time Michelin Star Chef Luca Casadio, who directs our kitchen. Gran Sasso may be new to Brooklyn, but quickly earned an Open Table Diner's Choice award in 2016 and again in 2017.
For private and business events Gran Sasso offer three thematic venues:
La Saletta: Our fully private wine cellar with audio/video capability, accommodating up to 50 guests.
La Corte Lampadario: A double-height, sky-lighted court showcasing a Pietro Sasso-designed four-tier copper tree-root-shaped chandelier. Augmented with wine barrel chairs, draping for privacy, and faux fireplace, this space is funky and elegant-- with a twist. Perfect for blowing out candles, popping the question, or just engaging with friends and family. Accommodates up to 45.
And the Gran Sasso tour de force -- opening in 2017 -- Il Giardino, a 5,000 square foot garden (accommodating up to 200 guests) to cater to your most intimate occasion or event. Enter your fantasy through the harlequin-themed, black & white gate leading into our Chef's Garden, which provides daily ingredients to Gran Sasso. Enjoy your al fresco dinner among Gran Sasso's herbs and spices and our seasonal blooms.
