Elena Ocher Medical PC
Elena Ocher has a long medical history behind her and a promising future ahead. In 1983 Dr. Ocher received an M.D. Degree from the Pavlov First St. Petersburg Medical Academy, having trained as general surgeon and neurosurgeon, specializing in the experimental and clinical study of brain vascular diseases, tumors, acute and chronic cerebral and spinal trauma. After military service as a staff neurosurgeon, she continued onto work and training in Moscow at the Burdenko Neurosurgical Institute and the Queen's University Hospital, Department of Neurosurgery in Northern Ireland. Upon arriving in New York Dr. Ocher changed specialties and went through the residency training in anesthesia and pain management. She graduated with an Award of Excellence in Cardiothoracic Anesthesia from Montefiore Medical Center University Hospital of Albert Einstein medical school. She expanded her licensure to become an Anesthesiologist, working as an attending in an academic and private setting.
After a few years in the Staten Island University Hospital, she moved onto the Fifth Avenue Ambulatory Surgery Center and Bronx Lebanon Medical Center, where she has been nominated as an assistant professor and faculty member. In addition to the 20 years Dr. Ocher has practiced, she has also been in constant touch with the many modern progressions made in the pain management and treatment field, participating in discussions and symposiums and authoring a number of publications.
