Brooklyn Writers Space
The Brooklyn Writers Space was founded by playwright's Scott Adkins and Erin Courtney in 2002. Since opening, the Writers Space has served over 700 writers by providing a professional, respectful, and quiet environment for writers. In 2007, the Brooklyn Writers Space partnered with the Brooklyn Artists Gym to establish a new kind of space. Room 58 provides everything the Writer Space does with an additional room for writers to take care of the business side of writing. In addition, the writer members share a beautiful bright 10, 000 square foot loft space with the visual artist members of the Brooklyn Artists Gym. In 2010, the Brooklyn Writers Space opened another quiet only space on Court Street to serve the writers of Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Red Hook and Boerum Hill. This space is a classic Carroll Gardens store front. All spaces provide writers with a desk, a lamp and a chair on a first come first serve basis. Coffee is always on hand, as well as provide your own paper printing, wi-fi (if you are trying to get away from the internet we can help you with that too ), storage ($30 per quarter ), and kitchenette lounge areas for socializing.
